JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JimmieAthletics.com) – The eighth-ranked University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team accomplished two feats with a 3-0 win over Morningside (Iowa) Saturday afternoon.

Not only did Jamestown advance to the semifinals of the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament, but the Jimmies also tied a program record with their 27th win of the season.

Ellie Michaletz (JR/Aitkin, Minn.) led UJ with 13 kills and a team-best .355 hitting percentage, while Isabel Wedell (SR/Ellendale, N.D.) added nine kills and Britta Knudson (SR/Bismarck, N.D.) seven.

Knudson (.333), Jordan Thomas (SR/Pingree, N.D.) (.333), and Wedell (.318) all hit above .300 for Jamestown, now 27-4 this season.

Miranda Lowman (SR/Mandan, N.D.) passed out 23 assists and Jackie Meiklejohn (SO/Dickey, N.D.) 16 in helping the Jimmies to a team hitting percentage of .298.

Hannah Schiele (SO/Jamestown, N.D.) recorded 23 digs, Sydney Ellingson (JR/Langdon, N.D.) 19, and Anna Holen (SO/LaMoure, N.D.) 10 to help Jamestown to a 68-58 advantage in digs.

Corina Ruud (JR/Breezy Point, Minn.) had four total blocks, with Wedell adding three, Michaletz two, and Knudson and Taylor Sabinash (SO/Kensal, N.D.) one each.

Jamestown hosts Concordia (Neb.) on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m. The tournament’s top-seed and nationally-ranked #1 Northwestern was beaten by the College of St. Mary, 3-1 on Saturday. If the Jimmies win on Wednesday, they would host the GPAC Championship against either Midland or CSM.
