JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – There will be a little bit of something old, and a little something new for the University of Jamestown Jazz Band.

The jazz band is set to perform on November 20th in their concert titled “Something Old, Something New”

Adjunct Professor Jason Kihle is new to the University, but not jazz instruction. Kihle taught at Texas A&M University-Kingsville where he served as Associate Professor of Percussion and Associate Director of Bands for 11 years.

Kihle says what makes the University of Jamestown special is all those involved in the bands, orchestras, and choirs are not necessarily music majors.

Kihle says they’ll be performing a wide variety of jazz compositions, ranging from the “old” to the “new.”

The concert will be performed one night on Wednesday, November 20th on the University of Jamestown campus in the Reiland Fine Arts Building beginning at 7:30 PM.

The concert is free and open to the public.
