JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Rough Rider Rodeo finals in Jamestown were held on October 25th through the 27th.
The event, held annually at the Jamestown Civic Center, brings in many from across the state. Civic Center Manager Pam Fosse says the Rough Rider Rodeo Association reported that around 2,287 in attendance.
Fosse says the total revenue from the event was $1,598.75. In addition to that, she says they had a total concession revenue of around $10,094 gross sales.
Included in expenses were also janitorial hours, disposal of waste, and damage to the civic center. Fosse says this resulted in $18,406 in loss for the city of Jamestown.
Fossee reports that they will be reducing their rental contribution in the future. She says they will be paying 50% next year, which is around $2,500. After that, it’ll be the full responsibility of the organization.
Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich stated that before the city decides on making changes or not holding certain events, they will need to look into other events similar to the Rough Rider Rodeo before making a decision.
