JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown City Attorney Leo Ryan gave the latest on work between the Frontier Village Association (FVA) Board and the city regarding the village.
In October, the FVA moved to give all assets, artifacts, and debts to the city of Jamestown. Ryan pointed out that a lawsuit against the city filed by the FVA was recently dismissed.
Because of that difference, Ryan stated that both parties were working together to resolve the difference and conversations are going well.
In a recent article, the Jamestown Park Board had had discussions on taking the lease over for the Frontier Village. Councilmember Steve Brubakken said the issue with that would be staffing and how they would pay for it.
Ryan says that’s more step two of the process for the future of the village, but they would continue working on the transfer. Councilmember Pam Phillips reported that all buildings were locked, windows replaced and it was ready for the winter season.
