Members of the student Executive Board come before the promotion committee on November 19th.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School Executive Student Board is gearing up for a big event in December.

Members of the Executive Board including Ashlyn Schauer, Caden Heinert, and Jessica Chandler came before the Promotion Committee Tuesday evening to propose a new event they were planning.

Chandler said they wanted to emulate Fargo’s “Fill the Dome” event.

Chandler stated they had come before the committee to request a wave of the fee to use the Civic Center.

Students were eyeing December 20th, the last day of school, when students could leave all the schools at Noon and begin collecting donations until 6 PM that evening.

Chandler says what they collect will stay local. Students will handle raising awareness and generating interest in the event.

The committee unanimously approved waving the fee. Councilmember Dave Steele encouraged the students, saying he was at the school and observed the operations behind the scene.
