JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown used a 16-0 run to take a 22-5 lead to start the game on the way to a 64-47 win over Valley City in the season opener for both teams.

The Hi-Liners led briefly at 3-2 after Lindsey Noeske hit a three-pointer. But it was all Jamestown after that. The Blue Jays lead 31-13 at halftime.

But the Hi-Liners started the second half on a 17-7 run to cut the lead to 38-30. But they would not get any closer than that. The Hi-Liners did out score Jamestown 34-33 in the second half.

Grace Hegerle led the Jays with 16 points. Ella Falk had 13. Jessa Anderson hd nine points and Cameron Selvig added eight.

Jadyn Dieterle led the Hi-Liners with 18 points. Lindsey Noeske had eight and Brooke Eggermont added seven.

Valley City, now 0-1, will host Wahpeton Tuesday night at the home opener. Jamestown is 1-0 and will host Bismarck St. Mary’s on Tuesday.
