GRAND FORKS, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Lauren Hillman scored 14 of here 16 points in the second half as Grand Forks Central scored the last five points of the game in the final 1:32 to pullout a 50-48 win over Valley City.

Ashley Gereau hit two free throws with 31.3 seconds left to give the Knights a one point lead. Sophia Roehl hit one of two with 10.4 seconds left to finish the scoring. Jadyn Dieterle’s runner in the lane came up short as time expired.

For the Knights, it was their third win in the last five games.

Haley Gereau led the Knights with 20 points. Hillman added five rebounds and Ashley Gereau had eight points and a team high seven rebounds.

Lindsey Noeske led Valley City with 10 points. Hailey Thoreson added nine points and six rebounds off the bench. Jadyn Dieterle and Peyton Pederson each had eight points and Pederson had eight rebounds as did Brooke Eggermont.

Valley City falls to 7-10 overall ad 6-9 in the Eastern Dakota Conference. Central improves to 5-11 in the EDC and 5-12 overall.
