JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police Department responded to shots being fired in Northeast Jamestown Thursday morning.

The call came in at 7:45 AM this morning after an altercation between two males. The caller reported who was involved, but left the location prior to calling.

An initial investigation determined the location of shots being fired at the 700 block of 2nd Avenue NE.

“Two men were identified as being involved in an altercation which escalated into shots being fired,” Major Justin Blinsky reports.Those males are currently being questioned about the incident and there is no reason to believe there is any further risk to the public.”

The Jamestown Police Department is being assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information or with access to surveillance footage showing vehicle travel within a 2-block radius are asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 701-252-2414.

The incident remains under investigation.
