
VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A tree along the banks of the Sheyenne River in Valley City fell on top of a power line around 10:45am causing a power outage for residents and businesses in downtown Valley City on June 9th.
City Electrical Supervisor Marshall Senf said the tree eroded away from the river bank and fell on the power line. Crews pulled the tree down in the City Park and removed the tree. He said power was restored as soon as crews pulled the tree off the power line.
Fire Chief Scott Magnuson said firefighters responded to the scene after someone reported seeing sparks fly near the power line. Magnuson said no fire was reported and no one was injured during the incident in Valley City.
