BUFFALO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The North Dakota Highway Patrol has provided the latest information on the fatal OHV crash near Buffalo Sunday afternoon.

The NDHP reports that a Polaris Ranger, driven by 11 year-old Owen Steckler, was eastbound on Front Street east of Buffalo when he lost control and entered a ditch. The Ranger rolled over and the driver was ejected. He died on the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt or helmet.

Passenger 14 year-old Madison Steckler was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for her injuries.

The NDHP was assisted by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Buffalo Fire & Rescue, and Casselton Fire and Rescue.
