CANDO, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) Junior Danielle Hagler had a match high 25 kills to help the Bearcats of North Star defeat the Cardinals of Carrington 3-1 Tuesday night (25-21, 14-25, 25-20, 25-18). NS improves to 1-1 overall, receiving votes Carrington drops to 1-2 overall.

The Bearcats had a total of 46 kills and 11 aces, Hagler had 11 kills in the first set, she also added three stuff blocks and one ace. Leading the way for the Cardinals was Senior Hannah Hagel 15 kills, three stuff blocks and three aces. Senior Tessa Page had six of the 11 total aces for the Cardinals.

Next up for Carrington will be their District 5 opener at Edgeley to take on Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier on Thursday, KDAK and newsdakota.com will have the coverage of the varsity match starting about 6:45pm.
