VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – A District 24 candidate forum and a discussion of the two measures that will be on the ballot will be held on Tuesday, October 6 at 7 pm at the Vangstad Auditorium on the campus of Valley City State University.

Dr. Anthony Dutton, chair of the Department of Social Science at Valley City State University will moderate the forum.

The forum is sponsored by “What in the World Is Going On?” is a campus-community group jointly sponsored by the VCSU’s Departments of Science and Social Science and the community. “What in the World” was begun shortly after 9/1/01 for the purpose of addressing issues of local, national, and international importance.

Dr. Ellen Chaffee, former president of VCSU will begin the evening by speaking briefly about the Measures—her position on #1 and #2 and her thoughts on why #3 is no longer on the ballot.

After Chaffee’s presentation the six legislative candidates for District 24 will then be invited to respond to her and also briefly state why each is running. Audience members will then be able to submit written questions on any topic for candidate response.

The District 24 Democrat-NPL candidates are Senator Larry Robinson, and Naomi Muscha and Bradley Edin, candidates for the House of Representatives. The Republican candidates are Mike Wobbema, candidate for the Senate, Representative Dwight Kiefert and Cole Christensen candidates for the House of Representatives.

VCSU campus rules will be followed related to social distance seating, and masks are mandatory.
