ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has approved a loan of $130,000 for the Ellendale Opera House.

The announcement was made Sunday.

“This Rural Development investment will be used to reconstruct the north wall of the historic Ellendale Opera House,” the USDA states. “The reconstruction work is crucial to the structural integrity of this historic building and the continued use of the building for community events and activities. This project is located in Ellendale, N.D. and will benefit rural residents that live in Dickey, Logan, and McIntosh Counties.”

The total project cost is estimated around $200,000.
