JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – An organization that has provided foster homes for area pets is building on positives from 2020 as they work to find them forever homes.

Prairie Paws Rescue has helped thousands of animals find “fur-ever” homes in the area. The organization places pets in foster homes to be cared for until they can be adopted.

The unique non-profit was co-founded by Kaye John, who continues to serve and raise funding and awareness for their cause.

John says volunteers along with supply and monetary donations have allowed them to continue operating. The group also hosts meet and greets, but with COVID-19, they’ve had to limit those in 2020.

But this Saturday, they’ll have an opportunity to host a short meet and greet while also collecting needed supplies in what they’re calling the “Puppy & Kitten Shower.”

John added that from 12 PM to 1 PM, people can bring donations to be used for the foster pets.

There will also be some special needs kittens, who will require more attention and care when adopted.

Kaye says they had a very successful 2020 even with COVID-19. They were able to find homes for multiple animals.

Pets can be found on petfinder.com. You can also follow Prairie Paws Rescue on Facebook for further updates and information.
