ELLENDALE, N.D. (NDHP) – A head-on collision seriously injured a Nebraska man on Friday, January 29th.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said a northbound vehicle driven by 23 year-old Lane Cornwell of Albion, NE lost control on Highway 281 south of Ellendale and crossed into the southbound lane striking a vehicle driven by 20 year-old Paige Durheim of Forbes, ND.

The impact from the crash pushed both vehicles into the ditch. One passenger in the Cornwell vehicle, 54 year-old Jeffery Cornwell was transported to a hospital in Aberdeen, SD with serious injuries. The drivers of both vehicles received minor injuries according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The Highway Patrol said the first driver, Lane Cornwell was cited for Care Required. No charges were filed against the second driver Paige Durheim. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
