VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City Gymnastics team posted its highest score of the season and it came at the Eastern Dakota Conference Championships Saturday night at the Youth Sports Complex.

The Hi-Liners scored a 146.825, nearly ten points more than second place Grand Forks who scored a 136.900. Wahpeton was third at 133.275. Fargo Davies was fourth with a 125.875 and Fargo finished fifth with a 124.325.

The Hi-Liners took first in all four events and held the top three spots in three of four.

Jocey Kriewald took first on the vault with a 9.450. Karina Olson was second with a 9.200. Olivia Olson was third with a 9.075 and Abby Thornton was fifth with a 8.925.

Kriewald was first in the bars with a 9.600. Abby Thornton was second with a 9.400. Olivia Olson was third with a 8.750. Karina Olson was fifth with a an 8.475.

Karina Olson took first on beam with a 9.550. Jocey Kriewald was fourth with a 8.900 and Olivia Olson was fifth with an 8.800.

Karina Olson took first on the floor with a 9.750. Jocey Kriewlad was second with a 9.600. Olivia Olson was third with a 9.450 and Abby Thornton was fifth with a 9.300.

The Hi-Liners also took the top four spots in the All-Around. Jocey Kriewald was first with a 37.550. Karina Olson  was second with a 36.975. Olivia Olson was third with a 36.075. Abby Thornton was fourth with a 36.050.

Valley City is currently ranked third in the state behind Dickinson and Jamestown heading into next weekend’s state meet in Jamestown.
