BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Blue Jays girls basketball team had a chance for the last shot in a defensive battle on Tuesday night but couldn’t get one up as they fell 45-42 against Bismarck.

Jamestown’s Annie Nabwe recorded another double-double, finishing with 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Jays in the loss. The Bismarck defense brought the full-court press for the entirety of the game, and neither side was able to settle in on offense.

The Demons got major production off their bench from sophomore Ali Gulleson who hit big three after big three to keep Bismarck in front of Jamestown. The Blue Jays were missing some key bench players because of illness.

Katie Falk had a big night on the glass, collecting 10 boards and chipping in with five points. Grace Hegerle and Katie Trumbauer also each had five points for Jamestown.

The Blue Jays now drop to 13-8 overall on the season and will host a loser-out game in the WDA tournament on Thursday night against Saint Mary’s at 5:30.

It will also be a Jamestown basketball doubleheader as the boy’s host Bismarck High in the #2 vs. #3 matchup, which will take place at 7:30. The WDA tournament will conclude on Saturday at the Bismarck Event Center.
