Due West, SC. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown men’s volleyball team broke four records on Tuesday night as the #6 Jimmies took down Erksine 3-1.

Jamestown dropped the first set of the evening 25-23 before rounding off three straight sets to win their fifth consecutive match. Clark Steele led the Jimmies in kills with 14 total and finished with 12 digs as well. Jamestown hit .341 total as a team and held Erksine to .155 hitting.

Freshman Derrek Correa broke his own UJ assist record on Tuesday when he dished out 55 assists. Correa also assisted on five blocks for Jamestown.

As a team, the Jimmies combined for 61 total kills, the most in a match regardless of set length in UJ history. In addition to Steele, Tanner Woods and Caylor Cox each finished with double-digit kills. Jamestown’s Austin Jacob broke the school record for most blocks recorded in a match with eight.

The Jimmies move to 11-2 overall on the season, with the only two losses on the year coming to the #1 team in NAIA men’s volleyball in Grand View. Jamestown will play three matches over the course of the next four days, all on the road. They return home on March 19th to take on Morningside in GPAC play.
