VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – About 50 people attended the Barnes County Commission meeting to show their support for Rockne Earles resolution to declare Barnes County a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary County.

Several other residents expressed their wishes that the county support this resolution as other counties have across the United States. Here are some questions and responses from county commissioner Cindy Schwehr and Bill Carlblom and other residents in this first segment of the meeting.

In this segment commissioner Vicki Lovell is asking resident Brian Mindt why it’s important to pass a resolution supporting this. He and other residents talked about why the commission should support it.

Here is the full resolution read by Rockne Earles.

No action was taken on the resolution during the April 20th meeting. Barnes County Commission president Bill Carlblom said the commission would study the resolution and vote up or down on the request at their next regular county commission meeting.
