BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown girls soccer team put up six goals on Tuesday night in Bismarck as the Jays improved to 3-2-2 on the year with a 6-1 win over Bismarck St. Mary’s.

Jamestown broke the scoreless tie in the 30th minute when sophomore Breanna Oettle scored her second goal of the season. Sara Sletto added another goal for the Jays before the end of the first half, scoring in the 37th minute off an assist from Haley Nelson. Sletto would add another goal late in the match that was unassisted.

Nelson scored a goal of her own in the 70th minute of the match via an assist from Sophie McClean. Nelson and Sletto are tied for the team-high in goals with three, and Nelson leads Jamestown in points this season with six. Claire Frohlich and Allie Windjue each added goals for the Blue Jays as well.

Jamestown currently sits in fourth place in the WDA with 11 total points, two points behind Bismarck High for third place. The Blue Jays have tallied 14 goals on the year while allowing 14, and Jamestown will host Bismarck Century on Friday at 6 pm. Century is 1-5-0 heading into Friday’s match.
