VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Valley City School Board approved of a new agreement with the city to extend the contract of School Resource Officer Sean Hagen on June 14th.

Police Chief Phil Hatcher said he supports the new agreement.

Superintendent Josh Johnson says officer Hagen has made a positive impact on students in the school district.

Police Officer Sean Hagen has been the School Resource Officer since January of 2017.

Under the agreement, the school district will pay $35,000 per year toward the cost of the SRO’s salary and benefits for the next two years. That figure increases to $40,000 a year for the school district in the final two years of the four year agreement. The city’s share will be $56,612 for the next two years.
