(NAFB) – Ransomware attacks are not going away, including against major Ag and food interests like JBS, and USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack warns that Agriculture must be prepared.

JBS paid 11 million dollars in ransom to hackers, and Colonial Pipeline paid four million.

President Biden called on Russia’s Vladimir Putin to crack down on cyber extortion from his country and warned the U.S. will respond if the attacks continue. But USDA Secretary Vilsack says agriculture must be ready.

As USDA and other agencies work with law enforcement.
