JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public Works Committee approved moving forward with bids for the truck scale at the City Transfer Facility.
On Thursday, the committee heard from Sanitation Foreman Shawn O’Neil, who says the project has been budgeted for and just needed approval to seek bids.
O’Neil says the pit and pillars will remain in place, but the project will replace the deck topping for the scale. The committee unanimously approved to move forward with the bidding process.
City Engineer Travis Dillman later gave the committee his engineering report for August and reports the 2021 Water Main improvement project is continuing in the SW.
Dillman also reports that they’re still waiting on final warranty information to finish out the Civic Center Roofing project for the year. He added they want to begin working ahead on the 2022 Civic Center Roofing project in order to ensure supplies are available for the work.
He added they are also progressing for 2022 construction on North Dakota Highway 20 mill and overlay.. They’re also working to find more grant funding to continue river cleanup.
The issue of possible line-of-site problems on 1st Avenue in Jamestown was brought forward. Dillman says they’ll contact the NDDOT to ensure lines are painted correctly.
Dillman says feedback has been positive from both residents and visitors regarding the road diet project, which is mostly complete.
