JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Police & Fire Committee received updates from both departments Thursday afternoon.
Jamestown Police Assistant Chief Justin Blinsky says new SRO Kourtney Jefferey has completed training and is ready to take the role.
Blinksy also reported they had upwards of 350 people join the National Night Out celebration with the Jamestown Fire Department earlier this month.
He later stated the department will be submitting changes in the law following legislative approval of different provisions.
Jamestown Fire Chief Jim Reuther later informed the committee that a second firefighter had been accepted to the National Fire Academy for inspections training.
At this time, Chief Reuther says they’re well below a full roster.
Reuther says the average age of their roster is 49 with multiple retirements coming up in the future.
