BISMARCK, N.D. (PlayNorthStar.com) – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) head men’s golf coaches had tabbed Bellevue (Neb.) as its favorite to win the conference title, the preseason conference poll was announced Thursday.  The Bruins won the previous two North Star Athletic Association tournament titles.  The head coach is allowed to vote for their own team in the preseason poll.

Bellevue collected four first-place votes and tallied 33 points to secure the top spot in the poll.  Waldorf (Iowa) was picked to finish second after recording 28 points with a first-place vote.  Viterbo (Wis.) earned the final first-place vote and finished third with 27 points.

Dickinson State (N.D.) registered 17 points to place fourth in the poll, followed by Valley City State (N.D.) fifth with 13 points and Dakota State (S.D.) sixth with eight points.

The North Star Athletic Association Men’s Golf Championship will be held on April 25-26, 2022, in Forest City, Iowa.  This year’s conference tournament is hosted by Waldorf.

The winner of the NSAA Men’s Golf Conference Tournament will receive an automatic team bid to the national tournament.  The NAIA Men’s Golf National Tournament remains at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill. on May 17-20, 2022.
