BISMARCK, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – Jamestown’s High School volleyball team trailed two sets to none on Thursday night in Bismarck before taking the final three sets against Legacy (18-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-19, 15-8) to win 3-2.

Hunter Peterson stayed hot in the hitting department for the Blue Jays, recording a team high 16 kills. Two other Jamestown attackers, Haylie Hakanson and Katie Falk, reached double digit kills in the come from behind victory. Katie Trumbauer helped move the Jamestown offense, finishing the match with 29 assists. On the back end, libero Jenna Fischer was spectacular once again, picking up 22 digs and five service aces.

Service pressure from Jamestown continues to cause problems for opposing teams as the Blue Jays had 12 aces against Legacy. Trumbauer tied Fischer for the team high with five while Makenna Nold and Kaia Dillman each had one ace. Nold also finished the match with 11 total digs.

#2 Jamestown improves to 9-1 overall on the year and 3-0 in the WDA. The Blue Jays have a busy week of home matches starting Tuesday when they host Mandan in Jerry Meyer Arena at 7 pm. Jamestown will also welcome #1 ranked Bismarck Century to town on Thursday, before wrapping up the week next Saturday against Watford City at 2:30 pm.
