For the next few weeks, we’ll highlight some of the area organizations that will be participating in Giving Hearts Day on February 10th.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Arts Center has been promoting the arts in the Jamestown area since 1964.

They’ve also been a participant in Giving Hearts Day (GHD) for several years. GHD is a 24-hour fundraising drive that has raised over $112 million for North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota non-profits since 2008.

Arts Center Executive Director Mindi Schmitz says they rely heavily on Giving Hearts Day to continue their mission of promoting the arts.

The Arts Center receives some funding from the North Dakota Council on the Arts and other grant sources.

“However, cash donations, volunteer support, product donations, and membership are essential to the success of all activities,” they added.

Schmitz says they have a match of $4,000 so every donation made to that point will be matched dollar for dollar.
