JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The University of Jamestown is entering it’s 36th year of the Dine & Bid on Saturday, April 23rd.
Created and held as a smaller event, it has since grown to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for student scholarships. Setareh Campion, Director of Alumni Relations, says they always look forward to the highly attended event.
Student scholarships have long been an important part of the University of Jamestown and have been funded in large part thanks to the Dine & Bid.
Tara Kapp, Director of the Jimmie Booster Club & Annual Progress Fund, adds that two years ago, the University turned to an all-virtual event. While it went over successfully, the fundraiser will return to include both an in-person and virtual aspect to increase participation.
Kapp says they’ll open their online auction roughly one week prior to the Dine & Bid and anyone can participate. There will also be live auction items exclusively for the in-person attendees.
Kapp added with the theme of “Jimmie Wonka”, they wanted to tap into the support and creativity of their students and students at the Jamestown Arts Center.
Campion says other community members and businesses have also stepped up to help sponsor and support the fundraiser.
