JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown Public School Board held some discussion on the Capital Project Plan and Summer Projects in 2022 Monday evening.

Superintendent Dr. Rob Lech provided the latest in his report on the plans for their summer projects that includes additional asbestos abatement from the Gussner HVAC project.

Lech says this also includes extension of the fence at Lincoln Elementary due to removal of the old Transition House and floor scrubber replacement at JHS.

The plan also combines areas of general repairs and maintenance such as HVAC, utilities, safety, and masonry to cover the district needs each year rather than listing small projects and budgeting them at each building.

In other school board discussion, Dr. Lech says they recently heard from Village Family Services regarding Mental Health Therapy, which has been utilized in the Jamestown Public School District.

Dr. Lech says they are looking to do what they can to continue providing this service to the kids who need it.

The school board also discussed new hires, release from contracts for JMS Principal Mr. Ryan Harty and Meredith Schmidt, and after school program changes.
