JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Programs for breast and cervical cancer detection go by many different names. Locally, it’s known as Women’s Way.
Women’s Way is part of a federal program that was first established in North Dakota in 1997. Central Valley Health District (CVHD) is one of eight different coordinators in the state for the program.
Robin Iszler is the Unit Administrator for Central Valley Health.
By enrolling different providers and area women, Iszler says they use Women’s Way to connect them with resources and funding to get much needed breast and cervical cancer screenings. She says their prime target is women between the ages of 40 and 64.
She added it’s free for women to enroll in the program.
If you’re a woman who has never been screened or it’s been more than five years since your last screening, you can contact Central Valley Health District at (701) 252-8130 or centralvalleyhealth.org for further information.
