JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – One can expect a wealth of history when stepping through the doors of the Historic 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse.
What you may not expect is the variety of entertainment that awaits you including speakers and an escape room.
Older than the state of North Dakota, the historic courthouse features the largest collection of pressed tin and the story of how North Dakota became a state. Site Supervisor Steve Reidburn says this summer, he’s invited members of the Jamestown Police Department and Stutsman County Sheriff’s Office to speak on different topics.
Reidburn says their final presentation of the season will be a detective from the Jamestown Police Department on August 26.
The library is also undergoing construction as they look to make the upper levels and lower level more accessible with the installation of an elevator.
Reidburn adds that the construction hasn’t closed any part of the courthouse and tours to the public.
Another entertainment opportunity that taps into the rich history of Stutsman County is their escape room.
