JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Entering its third year, its safe to say the El Zagal Mystics Fishing for a Cause event has caused some waves.
In 2020, it was named Jamestown’s Best Outdoor Event and Mystics Member Craig Mehlhaff says they expect to continue providing a fun, daylong fundraising event that returns Saturday, Aug. 13 at Pelican Point Landing.
Mehlhaff says they raise funding to support Shrine activities, but they also select a local non-profit to support each year.
This year’s raffle features 50 prizes from area businesses with all proceeds supporting the cause. The event features a Little Tyke fishing tournament, inflatables, face painting, food and drinks, live DJ, and live music to wrap up the evening. Mehlhaff says the reason they host events like these is to continue supporting businesses and the community that in turn supports their philanthropy.
