ELLENDALE, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Dickey County Extension Agent Danielle Dinger says local farmers markets are an excellent way to support local growers.
Two local farmers markets are held in Oakes and Ellendale.
Dinger adds these are great sources of fresh produce and more.
Dinger says they’ll also bring their Kids Night at the Oakes Farmers Market starting Thursday, Sept. 8. These classes begin around 4:30 PM and start with some fun games before jumping into some important topics.
In other extension information, Dinger says with gardening season upon us, you can contact your local extension office for questions you may have on harvesting and preserving. She says they also welcome any in-school education opportunities this fall and winter.
