JAMESTOWN, ND. (jimmiepride.com) – The University of Jamestown women’s soccer team won its second straight conference match Saturday afternoon, defeating Morningside (Iowa) 3-0 at the Jimmie Turf Field.

The Jimmies improve to 2-0-0 in the conference and 3-4-1 overall. Morningside falls to 2-4-0 overall and 0-2-0 in the GPAC.

Emersen Kimball (FR/Graham, Wash.) scored her second goal in as many matches, giving UJ a 1-0 lead in the 16th minute. Gaby Sarkis (SO/Campbelltown, Sydney, Australia) was credited with the assist.

Jamestown wasted little time in doubling their lead as Iliana Ramirez (SO/Marysville, Wash.) notched her first of the year to make it 2-0 after 19 minutes.

UJ took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break, and Sarkis rounded out the scoring in the 75th minute with an assist from Kamryn Fiscus (SR/Yakima, Wash.).

Shots ended 14-12 in favor of the Jimmies, who also put nine shots on target to the Mustangs’ six.

Tea Pence (FR/Hamilton, Ohio) (five saves) and Anna Cole (FR/Laurel, Mont.) (one save) combined for the Jamestown’s first clean sheet of the season.

Next up for the Jimmies is a road match at Hastings (Neb.) College on Thursday at 5 p.m.
