JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – Voters who cannot make it to the polls are wish to cast their ballots early can now do so as absentee voting is underway in North Dakota.

The last day to drop off absentee ballots at Stutsman County Courthouse is Nov. 7. If you are mailing your ballot back, it must be postmarked by that day.

“Any applications we had in the office for the General Election will be sent in the mail today,” Stutsman County Auditor Jessica Alonge stated. “Absentee ballots must be returned and postmarked by Monday, November 7. We will have a dropbox available in the Courthouse entry from 8-5 Monday through Friday beginning today.”

Absentee ballots can be requested at stutsmancounty.gov

Early voting in Stutsman County will begin Oct. 31 and go until Nov. 4 from 8 AM to 5 PM at the Courthouse.

County races include three commissioner seats, state’s attorney, and sheriff. Jamestown voters will decide on mayor, council member, municipal judge, park board, and school board. There are no local measures.

Statewide, voters will be deciding whether to legalize recreational marijuana and whether to impose term limits on state lawmakers and the governor.

All residents of Stutsman County can vote at the Civic Center on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8. The Civic Center is located at 212 3rd Ave NE in Jamestown. All residents may also take advantage of the Early Voting Precinct located at the Stutsman County Courthouse, 511 2nd Ave SE, Jamestown.

On Election Day, residents in Precinct 472910, located in the western part of the County, also have the opportunity to vote at the American Legion in Medina.
