Funds are being raised to build new and safer playground equipment at Washington Elementary School
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – The Washington Elementary PTO is returning their popular Soup’er Fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 28.
The PTO is currently raising funds to build a new playground for all grades on the northside.
“While all of the playground equipment is quite old, the wooden playground structure is rotting and has been determined unsafe for the children to use,” the PTO states.
Fourth grade student Braxten Sorensen says they would welcome new playground equipment.
Sullivan Ritter added the new equipment would be a big upgrade for the students.
Fellow fourth grader Luka Moroz says with 110 students at Washington Elementary, there’s not enough equipment or room to play on.
The PTO is working to raise funds to remove and replace the remaining structure with one that will accommodate all of the students and will meet the requirements for the school district.
Pints are available for purchase for $8 per pint. Pre-Sale tickets are available in advance by purchasing them from students at Washington Elementary, a member of the PTO, or from the school office.
Pre-Sale is available until Oct. 19th, 2022.
Knoephla is being provided by J&L Concessions. Chili is being provided by The 1883 Club.
