If you are looking to catch walleyes and a lot of nice eating size fish, look no further because Devils Lake is your destination! I just completed a two-week-long guiding stint there, and I am usually excited to change things up for a bit. To be honest with you, it’s going to be hard to leave that type of angling right now. Exceptional would be the best way to describe it!

The best part of Devils Lake right now remains that you can fish the lake anyway you want and catch fish. It’s incredible how Devils Lake and Sakakawea differ. Right now, on Sakakawea you have to fish deep to catch fish, but not on Devils Lake though, as the fish remain shallow and very accessible.

I am switching gears as I type and heading to Sakakawea for a couple weeks. I am hoping I can get on a consistent bite and be every bit as excited as am about Devils Lake. Stay tuned!
