Jamestown traveled on the road this evening to face off with Fargo North in a big high school football matchup between the #5 ranked Blue Jays in the NDAPSSA and #1 Spartans.

Things started out hectic for Jamestown as they had a bobbled snap and fumbled the football giving Fargo North great field position for their first drive. The Blue Jays would hold the Spartans to just a field goal though giving Fargo North the lead 3-0 just a couple minutes into the ball game. Jamestown would respond with 24 seconds left in the first quarter when quarterback Ryan Kallenbach threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to receiver Nate Walz.

Then Peder Haugo woke up, he erupted for 3 first-half touchdowns all in the 2nd quarter. It started first with a 48-yard touchdown with 10:22 left in the first half.  Then he followed that up with a 17-yard touchdown run with 6:19 left in the first half. Then stunning the Blue Jay defense Haugo caught an 80-yard touchdown pass on a wheel route with 2:05 left in the first half giving Fargo North a 24-6 lead.

Fargo North would keep the pressure going in the 2nd half scoring on their opening drive finishing with a 13-yard touchdown run from Kayden Rasmussen with 10:31 left in the 3rd quarter giving the Spartans a 31-6 lead. Kallenbach would throw a dart to tight end Jackson Jarret who would turn upfield for a 66-yard touchdown catch. That pass was the longest pass from Kallenbach on the season and the longest catch by any Blue Jay receiver. Jamestown would trail 31-14 with 9:39 left in the 3rd quarter.

Fargo North would lead the rest of the way, Billy Ward scored twice for short rushing touchdowns one in the third quarter and one in the fourth to give the Spartans a 46-14 lead with 4:21 left in the game. Kelan Harstad would rush in for a last second touchdown and Kallenbach would run in for a successful 2pt conversion giving you your final score of 46-22 Jamestown taking the loss. The Blue Jays will most likely be on the road next week, for playoff football and are now 5-4 on the season.
