LISBON, N.D. (NDSU) – The NDSU-North Dakota Forest Service welcomes Matt Olson as the new Forest Stewardship Manager.

Olson started on December 1, 2023, and is located in the Lisbon field office. He will be responsible for managing the Forest Stewardship program. This program provides technical assistance statewide to private forest landowners and partner agency staff for the sustainable management of windbreaks, native upland, and riparian forests. He says, I look forward to helping people who want to become better stewards of their trees, to find resources needed to accomplish their goals.

Matt brings a wealth of knowledge to the agency with over a decade of experience in conservation related private lands work. He has partnered with many local, state, and federal governmental agencies, as well as private industry and non-governmental organizations. Matt knows how to bring people and resources together to assist landowners and work towards a common goal. The agency is excited for him to bring this approach to his new role.
