VALLEY CITY, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and several local child welfare service providers are highlighting the importance of working together in communities to serve and support children and families so that child abuse and neglect can be prevented.

Local Parent Resource coordinator Amy Tichy says there are several event this month that focus on awareness and protection of children.

She says a Family Friendly Fair event will be held April 23rd in the Hi Liner Activity Center.

Tichy says donations of diapers, wipes, and food are being accepted this month at area Buffalo Bridges Human Service Zone offices.

The Valley City Family Fair with vendors, games and food will be held April 23rd from 4:30pm to 6:30pm in the Hi Liner Activity Center. The public is welcome to attend this family friendly event.
