JAMESTOWN, ND (VCSUVikings.com)  VCSU senior Jasmine Barnes broke a 30-year-old school record Friday as she won the 5000 meters at the Al Cassell Classic.

Barnes set a new Viking record with her winning time of 18:41.29, which broke the old school record of 18:52 set by Dani Dew back in 1993.

Her victory in the 5,000 meters was also one of four individual victories for VCSU on Friday. Kendra Odegard won the women’s javelin and Karina Olson won the women’s 100-meter hurdles. Jaiden Peraza took first in the men’s high jump for VCSU.
