SIOUX CITY, IA – In their fifth and sixth games in three days, the Jamestown Jimmies’ pitching couldn’t last.

Briar Cliff swept Jamestown in baseball Monday at the Bishop Mueller Complex 7-4 and 11-1, dropping UJ to 11-9 in GPAC play.

Game 1: Briar Cliff 7, Jamestown 4

Home runs led to most of this game’s runs.  Hayden Brown’s eighth homer in the top of the second with a runner on gave Jamestown (25-12, 11-8 GPAC) a 2-0 lead.  Briar Cliff (19-17, 12-7 GPAC) grabbed the lead for good on a three-run homer by Justin Remar in the home second.

Cam Riemer and Jared Sitzmann later hit solo homers for Briar Cliff.  Jett Nelson hit a two-run home run for Jamestown.

Jack Howard (4-4) allowed five runs and five hits in four and two-thirds innings.

Game 2: Briar Cliff 11, Jamestown 1 (7)

Briar Cliff (20-17, 13-7 GPAC) basically decided this game in the first inning with seven runs, including a two-run single by Cade Marquardt and a three-run double by Walker Moore.

Drew Petersen also hit a three-run double for the Chargers.

Isaiah Roebuck singled in the only run for Jamestown (25-13, 11-9).  Trei Hough (0-2) allowed seven runs in only two-thirds of an inning.

Jamestown will host Concordia in a doubleheader Friday at Jack Brown Stadium.
