MINOT – The start was good for Jamestown Blue Jay Softball Thursday, but the finish was good in both games for the home team.

Minot rallied for a 3-2 win in the first game of a doubleheader in eight innings at the Scheels Softball Complex, then blanked the Jays in the second game 9-0.

Game 1: Minot 3, Jamestown 2 (8)

Jamestown (10-4, 6-2 WDA) had a 2-0 lead through four innings, but Minot rallied for the win with single runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

Sydnee Bartsch tied the game for the Majettes (13-3, 8-1) with an RBI double in the seventh.  A wild pitch by Jamestown pitcher Makenna Nold (5-2) brought home the winning run in the eighth.

Nold struck out 14 in seven and two-thirds innings.

Torrie Mack drove in her 24th run with a first-inning double.

Game 2: Minot 9, Jamestown 0

Journey Larson doubled twice and drove in two runs for Minot (14-3, 9-1).  Halle Baker and Isabelle Anderson also drove in two runs each.

Jamestown (10-5, 6-3) was limited to two hits.  At one point, Minot starters Bartsch and Raegan Terrel combined to retire 15 straight hitters.

Maddie Hoff (5-2) recorded seven strikeouts.
