oakes-5

Enderlin, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Oakes Tornadoes swept aside the Enderlin Eagles in their doubleheader at Hendrickson Field on Tuesday, May 7th. They took game 1 13-0 and game 2 8-0.

Game 1:

The game started well for Oakes as they’d score 2 unearned runs on 2 hits and 2 errors in the first inning. They’d get 4 more runs in the 2nd inning off of 3 hits and 2 more errors as Enderlin struggled with the high wind speeds. Oakes would score 3 more in the 3rd and 4 more in the 4th. All the while Enderlin wouldn’t be able to get much of anything going as they’d only get men on base via 4 walks and 1 errror till the 5th inning when they’d finally get their first hit. However they weren’t able to capitalize on any of that stranding 7 men on base. The Tornadoes would win 13-0 with Brogan Roney earning the win on the game.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Noah Wood who had 5 put outs and went 2/3 at the plate with 2 Runs and 2 RBI’s.

The Tornadoes were the home team for game 2 and the Eagles got their first two men aboard via walks. Oakes would then score 4 runs on 3 hits and an error to take a 4-0 lead. Neither team would score a run until Oakes plated 3 more in the 4th inning off of 2 hits and a passed ball to make it 7-0. They’d score one more in the 5th to make it 8-0 which would be the final score in the ball game. Enderlin would get a man on in the 7th with 2 outs however he’d be picked off by Tornado catcher Chris Titus to make the 3rd out and end the ball game.

The Bank North Player of the Game was Chris Titus who caught a man stealing and had the pick-off to end the game. He also went 3/3 at the plate with a walk, scoring 2 runs and had an RBI as well.
