JAMESTOWN – They did as much as they could before Mother Nature took over, but the 5-seed Jamestown Blue Jays and 4-seed Bismarck Demons were suspended in the fourth inning with Bismarck leading 7-2 Thursday night at Trapper Lawrence Field in the WDA Tournament first round.

After Demons pitcher Brielle Wrangham opened the scoring in the first with a two-run double, the Blue Jays responded in the second with a two-run inning including an RBI double by pitcher Maddie Hoff to tie the game.  But in the second, the Demons scored four more including another two-run double by Wrangham.  They added one more in the third.

Then, in the fourth, the rains and lightning came, and twelve minutes after the initial delay, the game became suspended for the night.

Jamestown will have two on and two out when the game resumes Friday at 2:00 PM at Bravera Field in Dickinson on Thunder 98.3.  The winner will face Minot in a State Qualifier while the loser will face an elimination game against Bismarck Century.
