
JAMESTOWN (NewsDakota)- The 2025 Class B Girls Basketball postseason continued Saturday with the District 2 Tournament at the Jamestown Civic Center:
Elimination Game: (5) Ellendale 43 (8) Medina-Pingree-Buchanan 23
Ellendale held M-P-B to 7 first half points and had three girls reach double figures in scoring paced by Ariel Hagen and Madeline Thorpe with 12 points. Hagen added a game high 17 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. Mya Glynn added 11 points for the Cardinals. Ellendale, leading 7-6, had a 14-0 run between the first and second quarters that the Thunder never recovered from. Brynn Sorenson scored 5 points to lead the Thunder in scoring. M-P-B ends the season at 3-18 overall and Ellendale improved to 5-16 and will play at 4:00 on Monday in a region 2 qualifying game.
Elimination Game: (6) Napoleon-Gackle Streeter 48 (7) South Border 41
Ali Gross led the Imperials with 13 points and a game high 15 rebounds to aid the 48-41 win. Aliyah Schwartzenberger added 9 points and 7 from Brooklyn Schneider. South Border had a game high 15 points from Macy Monson and Carlene Andre added 7 points and 9 rebounds. The Mustangs finish the season at 4-17 and the Imperials improved to 6-15 and will play at 5:30 on Monday night in a region qualifying game.
Semifinal: (1) LaMoure-LM 49 (4) Kidder County 26
The Loboes defense swarmed Kidder County, holding the Wolves to 23 percent shooting (9/39) and won the backboards 39-17 en route to a return trip to the District 2 final. Nora DeLaBarre had 14 points and 8 rebounds in the win, during which Miah Van Eden left with a knee injury. Taylor Zimmerman had 13 points and seven steals for the Wolves, who face Napoleon/GS in a Region I Qualifier on Monday.
Semifinal: (2) Linton-HMB 50 (3) Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier 39
The Lions held the Rebels to just 26% from the field (12/47) and allowed only 20 point through three quarters in advancing to the District Championship Game. Amber McCrory led three in double figures with 16 points, including three triples, and Brooklyn Schumacher added 12 points, 7 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Jaelyn Bertsch led the Rebels with 12 points.
