Jamestown, ND (NewsDakota.com) – The Class B Girls State Basketball Tournament continued in Jamestown on Friday March 7th with the semifinals and consolation semifinals.

Semifinal 1: #2 Kenmare-Bowbells 52-49 #3 Central Mclean
The Honkers are on to their first ever State Title game as they survive a late Cougar onslaught to win 52-49. The game started out well for the Cougars as they’d go back and forth with the Honkers in the 1st quarter to take a 15-14 lead. They would build the lead to 23-16 in the 2nd before the Honkers went on a run to take a 28-23 lead at the half. They’d build that lead up to 41-32 through the 3rd quarter. The Cougars would battle back in the 4th to tie it 44-44. The Honkers would not give up the lead as they’d get back to a 3 point lead late and end up winning 52-49 after a last second blocked 3-ball attempt.
The Honkers advance to the Title game tomorrow at 8:00 pm for the first time ever. The Cougars will play in the 3rd place game tomorrow at 6:00 pm.
Semifinal 2: #1 Lewis & Clark – Berthold 51-59 #4 Benson County
After being down by 14 at the half the Wildcats battled all the way back to win 59-51 to punch their ticket to their first ever State Title game. The game started out all Bombers as they’d quickly jump to a 10 point lead after 1 quarter of play leading 21-11. They’d build that lead to 14 at the half leading 32-18. Then the script would flip as the Wildcats would outscore the Bombers in the 3rd quarter 25-5 to take a 43-37 lead. They would build the lead up to 12 in 4th quarter at one point to be able to take home the 59-51 win.
Benson County will advance to the Title game tomorrow at 8:00 pm for their first time ever. The Bombers will play in the 3rd place game tomorrow at 6:00 pm.
Consolation Semifinal 1: #7 Grant County-Mott/Regent 57-66 #6 LAM – 6:30 PM
Consolation Semifinal 2: #8 Linton-HMB 61-44 #5 LaMoure-LM – 8:15 PM
