
JAMESTOWN – Mistakes abounded for Jamestown Blue Jay Softball Thursday and a streaking Bismarck Demon team took advantage.
Bismarck swept Jamestown in a doubleheader 10-6 and 18-9 at Trapper Lawrence Field.
Game 1: Bismarck 10, Jamestown 6
Josie Schell homered and drove in four runs as Bismarck (10-1, 5-0 WDA) earned their 10th straight win.
As Bismarck had 12 hits, Jamestown (6-3, 4-3 WDA) also allowed five walks and committed five errors.
Still, the Blue Jays had 15 hits and scored three in the bottom of the seventh before leaving the bases loaded and the tying run at the plate to end the game.
Megan Jarrett hit her third home run for the Blue Jays. Avery Graves and Maddie Hoff had three hits each.
Hoff (3-3) struck out seven in a complete game.
Game 1: Bismarck 18, Jamestown 9
Miscues continued for the Blue Jays (6-4, 4-4) with four errors, five wild pitches and five passed balls.
Schell had four of the 17 hits for Bismarck (11-1, 6-0). In the doubleheader, Schell was eight-for-11 with nine RBI, including five in this game. Bailey Kautzman had four hits and two rbi. Izzy Owens had three hits and three RBI.
Jarrett hit two more home runs for Jamestown, her fourth and fifth of the season, and drove in four runs.
Jaelyn Sloan (3-1) took the loss despite striking out 16.
