
BISMARCK – Clutch baseball happened twice for Jamestown.
The Blue Jays rallied in both ends of the doubleheader Thursday to sweep Bismarck 4-2 and 5-2 at 1st International Bank Field at the Sanford Sports Complex.
Game 1: Jamestown 4, Bismarck 2
Down 2-1 in the top of the sixth inning, Bennett Goehner sparked a comeback for Jamestown (5-4, 4-3 WDA). He tripled in Ethan Oettle to tie the game before stealing home to give the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead.
Jaxon Kolpin singled in the Jays’ final run in the seventh.
Braxton Perkins drove in the other Jamestown run with a ground ball.
Kolpin (2-0) pitched a five-hitter, allowing two unearned runs.
Game 1: Jamestown 5, Bismarck 2
Again, Jamestown (6-4, 5-3 WDA) came back in the late innings. Bismarck led 2-0 through three before a Brenner Weber RBI triple brought the Blue Jays within 2-1 in the fifth.
In the sixth, Kolpin tripled in Thomas Newman before scoring on a wild pitch for a 3-2 Jamestown advantage.
Thomas Newman drove in the final two runs with a single in the seventh.
Zach Gaiser (1-1) pitched a five-hit complete game, striking out five.
Jamestown will play Tuesday at Dickinson.
