JAMESTOWN – Two-time defending champion Dickinson continued a slump for Jamestown Blue Jay Softball Tuesday.

Dickinson defeated the Blue Jays 5-2 and 7-5 at Trapper Lawrence Field, making Jamestown’s losing streak four games.

Game 1: Dickinson 5, Jamestown 2
Myah Merry singled in a run and two others scored on errors in a go-ahead three-run third inning for Dickinson (7-2, 5-2 WDA).

The Blue Jay runs came in the fourth inning, cutting their deficit to 4-2. Megan Jarrett homered for the fifth straight game. Her sixth home run of the year broke the shutout bid. Brynn Sorenson singled in a run later in the inning.

Maddie Hoff (3-4) pitched a six-hitter for Jamestown (6-5, 4-5).

Reagan McMahen (5-1) struck out 10 for Dickinson.

Game 2: Dickinson 7, Jamestown 5
Emily Sayler hit a two-run triple in a three-run fifth inning to give Dickinson (8-2, 6-2 WDA) the lead for good.

Kyndall Peterson (1-1) struck out seven in a seven-hit complete game to win.

Maddie Hoff broke a 1-1 tie for Jamestown (6-6, 4-6) with a three-run home run, her first of the season, in a four-run third inning. Jarrett and Jordan Mikkelson also drove in runs.

Jamestown will play in a tournament in Dickinson, starting on Friday.
